HGV Trainee Morning: Getting Started
8:00 am -Arrival and welcome
Your day begins at our training centre in Stevenage, where you’ll be greeted by your friendly instructor.
8:30 am -Safety briefing
Before hitting the road, our instructor will conduct a safety briefing. This covers essential safety protocols, vehicle checks and an overview of the day’s training objectives. Understanding safety is our top priority, and this briefing ensures you are prepared.
Mid-Morning: Practical Driving Experience
Prior to joining us you would have completed your theory test so your time with us means that it’s time to put your knowledge into practice! Under the guidance of your instructor, you’ll get behind the wheel of an HGV. This hands-on experience allows you to apply what you’ve learned, from basic manoeuvres to more complex driving situations.
12:00 PM -Lunch and Reflection
After a busy morning, it’s time for a well-deserved break.
1 :00 PM -Advanced Driving Techniques
In the afternoon, you’ll focus on advanced driving techniques. Your instructor will
cover topics such as reversing, manoeuvring in tight spaces, and driving in different conditions. This session is designed to build your confidence and proficiency behind the wheel.
3:00 PM -Review and Feedback
After your practical session, it’s time for a review. Your instructor will provide constructive feedback on your performance, highlighting areas for improvement and celebrating your successes. There will also be a chance to ask any final questions and discuss your goals with your instructors.
